From script to screen.
The full producing lifecycle.
The HEARTH™ Film & Television Producing Lab develops producers from Black, POC, LGBTQ+, and working-class creators through the complete lifecycle of television production. Participants work on their own projects — emerging from the program with a locked script, production budget, confirmed team, distribution strategy, and fundraising plan.
All participants sign a first-look arrangement with HEARTH™ — every project developed in the lab is a potential project HEARTH™ can develop further. This is not incidental. It is strategic.
Who can apply
- →You have experience in or adjacent to the television or film industry — as a writer, director, PA, coordinator, or in any other capacity.
- →You can articulate a specific reason for wanting the producing role — not filmmaking generally, producing specifically.
- →You have an active television project or a clear concept you are developing. This lab builds around your project.
- →You understand that fundraising is a core component of this lab and you're prepared to engage with it.
- →You can commit to the full 6-month lab with in-person attendance in your city (NYC/NJ).
- →You are a television-focused creator. This lab is specifically for television producing — film-only producers are not the right fit.
- →From Black, POC, LGBTQ+, and working-class creators — HEARTH™ prioritizes these communities.
