Spoken & Sung is HEARTH’s filmed live-band performance series in the NYC/NJ area. We’re booking singers, rappers, bands, poets and spoken word artists to perform a 15-minute set of original work with a live band. You leave with the full footage.

- PAY
- Performances are unpaid right now. If future nights are ticketed, we’ll share performer terms before anyone is booked.
- FOOTAGE
- HEARTH keeps the rights to the Spoken & Sung series. You get the full footage of your set to use however you like.
- SET
- 15 minutes, performed with a live band.
- BAND
- Every set is performed with a live band. Bring your own, or play with HEARTH’s house band.
- MATERIAL
- Original work only, and you own the rights to everything you perform.
- WHERE
- Filmed in the NYC/NJ area. Open to artists based in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Location and format are shared when you’re booked.

Is it paid?
Not right now. Performances are unpaid, and you keep the full footage of your set. If future nights are ticketed, we’ll share performer terms before anyone is booked.
Who owns the footage?
HEARTH keeps the rights to the Spoken & Sung series. You get the full footage of your set to post, pitch with, and use however you like.
Can I perform covers?
No. Original work only, and you need to own the rights to everything you perform. That keeps the series clear to release.
How long is a set?
15 minutes.
Do I need my own band?
No, but every set is performed with a live band. Bring your own, or play with HEARTH’s house band. If you’re using ours, we may ask for charts or reference recordings before the session.
Can I perform to backing tracks?
No. Spoken & Sung is live-band only, for singers, rappers, poets and spoken word artists alike.
Who can apply?
Artists based in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or Pennsylvania who can perform in person in the NYC/NJ area.
Will there be an audience?
It depends on the night. Some sessions may be filmed in front of a live room, others in a closed studio. We’ll tell you which when you’re booked.
Do I need a following?
No. If you can bring people out, great, but it’s never a requirement.
How do I hear back?
We review applications on a rolling basis and reach out by email if it’s a fit.
Can I also submit to the sync library?
Sync library submissions are paused while we review the current queue. Get notified when they reopen.
