Guidance for
every creative path.

HEARTH™'s 1-on-1 Mentorship Program pairs emerging creators from underrepresented communities with working industry professionals for structured, three-month mentorship engagements. The program is completely free for participants. Mentors are committed volunteers who sign formal commitment contracts before any match is made.

This program addresses the most fundamental equity gap in creative industries — access to relationships. Most careers in film, music, and writing are built on informal networks that underrepresented creators are systematically excluded from. HEARTH™ builds that access intentionally.

Three months. Real guidance. Direct access.

1
Apply — Submit your application with your career goal, background, and what you’re hoping to work toward. Every application is reviewed by the HEARTH™ team.
2
Match — Once accepted, your profile is shared with our confirmed volunteer mentor pool. Your mentor reviews your application and confirms alignment — this is a mutual selection process. Your match is confirmed within two weeks of the application close.
3
Briefing — Both you and your mentor receive a match briefing document outlining the program structure, session expectations, and HEARTH™’s accountability standards for both parties.
4
Three-Month Engagement — You meet on a cadence you and your mentor agree to. Throughout the program, you’ll complete a brief weekly check-in and receive a monthly personal check-in from Alscott, HEARTH™’s CEO.
5
Program Close — At the end of three months, you complete a post-program survey. Your outcomes are tracked as part of HEARTH™’s impact reporting.

Who can apply

  • You are an early-career creator or someone transitioning into a creative field from another career — both tracks are equally valued.
  • You come from an underrepresented community — HEARTH™ prioritizes Black, Latino, LGBTQ+, and working-class creators.
  • You have a specific career goal you want to work toward — not a general desire to grow, but a concrete direction.
  • You are ready to show up consistently. Every mentorship match has a defined session cadence.
  • You are a national applicant. The program is fully virtual — location is not a barrier.
  • The program is free. No credits, fees, or professional experience required.
Transition track: If you’re moving into a creative career from another field, you belong here. HEARTH™ was founded by someone who took that exact path. It is not an afterthought — it is a named program priority.

“Most creative careers are built on relationships. HEARTH™ builds that access for the people who’ve been locked out of it.”
