HEARTH™ Showcases & Pitch Events are quarterly in-person cultural gatherings where creators from our community present original work through live performances, film screenings, and story pitches — held to celebrate the creative development of underrepresented voices and to connect developed talent with industry.

Showcases are the moment where the community HEARTH™ has built gathers to celebrate what our programs produce. Every other program builds toward this moment. Without Showcases, development programs have no industry-facing endpoint.

How It Works

How you get on stage

Complete a HEARTH™ program — Showcases are primarily open to alumni of HEARTH™ development programs — Script Labs, Music Residencies, Film & TV Producing Lab, and 1-on-1 Mentorship. Active community members with work ready for presentation are also considered.

Selection by the CEO — Participating talent is personally selected by Alscott Worrell for each event, based on the strength and readiness of your work, your development journey within HEARTH™, and the format of the specific showcase.

Briefing & Preparation — Selected talent receives a briefing document with event details, presentation format, timing, and expectations. You’ll know exactly what you’re walking into.

The Event — You present your work — a live performance, film screening, or pitch — to an audience that includes both industry stakeholders and the HEARTH™ community.

Post-Event Follow-Up — Alscott personally facilitates introductions between presenting talent and industry contacts after each event. The showcase doesn’t end when the lights come up.

Eligibility

Who presents

  • →HEARTH™ program alumni or active community members with work ready for presentation.
  • →Priority is given to creators who have completed at least one HEARTH™ development program.
  • →Presenting talent spans disciplines — filmmakers, screenwriters, musicians, and storytellers.
  • →Final selection is made by the CEO per event. Participation is by invitation — not open application.
Note: Showcases are not open-call events. Participation is by invitation only, based on CEO selection. The best way to be considered is to complete a HEARTH™ program.
